History:
The use of embellishments can be traced back to prehistoric times. Ancient man often used shells, stones or bones as adornments, not just to fasten pelts for clothing but more often to symbolize power and position.
Middle Eastern history is literally adorned with images of bejeweled caftans; women bedecked with coins and bangles and richly beaded headdresses and prayer shawls.
Today's society is really not much different. Shells and pearls, beading and bangles can be added to almost anything. Most of us enjoy accenting our personal fashion and homes with something to add a little spark or flash.
