Promoting Wellness through the Needle Arts
Stitch to WIN Against Breast Cancer
Although the association and our members have always supported worthy causes, Stitch to WIN Against Breast Cancer was the first comprehensive, national outreach program of its kind in TNNA's history. Thanks to the generous contributions of money, materials and time from our members, industry sponsors, needlearts guilds, as well as volunteers throughout the country, the campaign has raised over $80,000 to support those living with breast cancer.
While raising awareness of the Breast Cancer Research Stamp, STWABC has highlighted the needlearts before millions of people — sharing the methods, as well as the spirit of the needlearts. We've brought together industry organizations, created new stitchers and heightened the visibility of the fiber arts within a greater community. At that same time, we've given something of unlimited value to people who are in need of our support and can truly benefit from the healing power of the needlearts.

One Stitch at a Time
Thousands of stitchers came together to re-create this unique, semi-postal stamp in each of the needlearts disciplines. The finished wall hangings were then presented to the Smithsonian National Postal Museum, October 2006. A complete history of the wall hangings and those who helped make it happen can be found at www.businessdirectionsinc.com/TNNA.onestitch.
Walk to WIN Against Breast Cancer
TNNA has now brought this well-supported program indoors. So more people can participate, everyone can now get "credit" for all the steps they walk throughout the show. Participants receive a pedometer and button in exchange for a small donation.
Awards are presented for the most steps walked by an attendee and an exhibitor.

The U.S. Post Office offers the Breast Cancer Research Stamp for 55 cents, a portion of which goes directly to breast cancer research and education initiatives. This stamp has raised over $53 Million to date and has recently been renewed by the USPS for another four years.
We continue to encourage you to use and promote the stamp whenever possible.
