TNNA Board & Retail Council Nominations

TNNA is now accepting nominations for the 2017-2018 slate of Board of Directors and Retail Council members. Please consider nominating those (including yourself) you feel would be qualified to serve in one of the below open positions. Nominations to be considered must be submitted to TNNA Headquarters by July 28, 2017.


Open Board Positions:

  • Yarn Group Chair/Board Member (wholesale or retail member)
  • Spinning & Weaving Group Chair/Board Member (wholesale or retail member)

Important Deadlines:

  • Nominations Deadline: July 28th
  • Ballot goes live: August 14th
  • Deadline for ballot: August 25th
  • Winners announced: August 30th

Nomination Criteria:

  • Candidates must be an owner, principal, officer or manager of the owner, if the owner is an entity such as a corporation, limited liability company or partnership. Principal is defined as an individual who serves as a Director of a corporation, member of a limited liability company or partner of a partnership and is active in the entity on a day to day basis.
  • Candidates must be members of the association for at least one year.
  •  Candidates must exhibit the potential to become an officer.
  • Candidates must be capable of placing the association’s purposes and interests above his or her professional and personal interests when making decisions as a Board Member.
  • Candidates must be willing to commit time and travel to Board/Council meetings as follows:
    •  All candidates should be advised that Board meets 1 ½ days after each show and for 1 additional 3 day period for an annual meeting/retreat.  Expenses are monitored and refunded.  
    • Every Board member excluding SPG Chairs is a potential executive officer after 1st year of Board membership.  If put onto Executive Committee track, the Board member should expect to potentially serve the Association for an additional 1 to 2 years as Vice President, President and Past President.
    • The Retail Council meets for one day prior to each trade show and possibly for an additional day meeting in the fall.
    • If elected as Retail Council Chair they would also serve on the TNNA Board as a voting member and be required to attend the meetings as described for all Board Members.
