My pouch collection exists because of a lovely way of knitting straps that I discovered while fiddling around. The most basic strap is the "Thatzall," because you will end up grinning and saying, "That's all I have to do?". Imagine lots of resizable pouches and bags that are essentially beautiful sock legs with closed bottoms, and a dozen unique straps to choose from. For sock knitters ready for a new adventure, for wannabe sock knitters who need an entry point, for any knitter who needs more pockets, for those who love knitted bracelets, or for pet owners who want to outfit their companions with knitted leashes and collars, this class will bring happiness and excitement, and sell skein after skein of yarn. Must be able to work in the round on DPNs, 1 long circ, or 2 circs without supervision.

Students should bring: The usual small bag of knitting paraphernalia and needles (your choice of DPNs, 1 long circ, or 2 circs) in sizes 3 through 7. Yarn will be provided.

Teaching classes at your shop builds lasting relationships with loyal customers, but many owners struggle to bring in enough students to make it worthwhile. In this workshop, we'll cover the entire process, from class creation (how to make sure you are offering classes your customers really want) to filling the class with eager students and bringing them back class after class. I'll share stories and examples of what's working well for the yarn shops and knitwear designers I work with. Throughout the class you'll apply what you've learned to your own business by using the class workbook and you'll leave with an action plan to fill your very next class!
