2020 Call for Proposals

2020 Call for Proposals

Thank you for participating in our 2020 Call for Proposals! TNNA is taking your feedback and has created a step-by-step process on submitting your proposals for either show taking place in 2020. Please read through the steps carefully, as they will provide details on where you’ll be submitting your proposal, how to update your member profile and much more. Submitting one proposal should not take more than 45 minutes of your time.

The Call for Proposals is open from July 17, 2019 through August 23, 2019. Please ensure all submissions are in at this time, as we will NOT be accepting late submissions! Once the call has closed TNNA’s Education Team will compile all submissions and send to the Retail Council for review. Once the review has been completed, TNNA’s Education Team will follow up with all submissions and share feedback.

You can expect to receive a note from TNNA’s Education Team by Friday, September 13, 2019.

Step 1: Tips

When submitting your Proposal, there are a few things we’d like you to keep in mind,

  • Provide as much detail as possible
    • It’s often hard to review proposals when they are incomplete or do not have enough detail on the technique/business tip that is being shared so please include as much as possible
  • Include photos of your finished product/pattern for the students to see the final results
    • We receive many requests to see the final product but often do not have anything to share
  • Propose new class ideas
    • Our members are always looking for the latest trend, newest pattern or hottest business trick to retain customers
    • We often receive class proposals on social media, essential techniques and business classes, while these classes are important we urge you to think outside of the box
      • Social media is always changing, so think of creative ways to showing how YOUR social media class will be different and how they can tie this back to their business
      • Business classes are critical for our members. They are always looking for NEW ways to make money for their business. These are the types of classes that do very well.
      • Technique classes help share the fundamentals of the needlearts industry. While all levels of technique are important, we want to share new tips/tricks on existing techniques and increasing the level of skill. This means we’re looking for more advanced technique skills than essential.
  • You’re able to propose more than one class, so if you have a few ideas… Share them all!
    • Teachers that are able to teach more than one class (submit more than one proposal) are often easier to add to our schedule of classes
    • Two is always greater than one!
